Poll Position

Because I’m all about my readers, I’d like to know what you’d like to see here on Lights in the Dark! I try to find the most recent and visually interesting images from the various robotic missions around our solar system to post every day, but if there’s nothing new or particularly interesting to look at on a given day, I’ll hunt for older images that I think would make a good post. It would be helpful to me to know what you’d like to see more of! If you enjoy Lights in the Dark, please take a second to put your vote into the poll below. Thanks!

Jay-many of us are here because RwR went into deep-sleep mode. I think LITD and APOD should continue to have different “focal lengths.”

I visit both everyday. First thing. But your coverage of the solar system and current info from the rovers and orbiters seems more “relevent.” And after awhile, if you’ve see one planetary nebula or reflection nebula or emission nebula, there’s not a lot else to glean on a lay level image after image.

So this vote is not to try to duplicate APOD by going “galactic” on us.

Terry: It’s true, after looking at deep-space photos over and over they tend to blur into one another. Not to say anything bad about them, because they can be beautiful, but they lack a certain sense of physicality that people can identify with. I can’t understand thousands of light-years across. But I can get scale in feet, meters, miles, etc…even in the tens or hundreds of thousands makes more sense to me. That’s why I like the planetary missions so much. I can relate.

I just thought it would be a good way of getting a feel for what people were interested in most when they visit my site. And it helps to see that people like to see new things, and I’ve been posting what people like and not what they don’t. Which validates my work, makes me feel good and helps keep me going. So thanks to you, and everyone who voted, for your input.

And my cat thanks you too.
