This animation, made up of 7 raw image frames taken by Cassini’s wide-angle camera, shows Saturn’s ring system ponderously rotating, the reflected light off the gas giant illuminating the dark material of the Cassini Division. In the lower right the moon Pandora orbits outside the twisted cords of the F ring. The planet itself is just out of frame to the upper left.

Differences in exposure and sharpness between the frames make sections of the rings more or less visible. I cleaned up background stars and lens dust to smooth out the frame transitions a bit too. I like the scale of this image, as it shows the stately movement of Saturn’s grand rings.
