So if you haven’t seen it yet, here it is – the first official trailer and the world’s first look at actual scenes from J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens, coming to theaters next December. Some really interesting stuff here, including what looks to be exceptional aerial footage of X-wings and the Millennium Falcon, some new droid designs, and a curiously claymore-ish fiery lightsaber. Will the Force finally be strong with this one? Let’s “a new hope” so! (No really, I couldn’t take another let-down like “The Phantom Menace.”)
What do you think?
I was feeling quite optimistic anyway but these images have made me feel pretty happy about it. At least we know for certain that it will be better than the appalling prequels.
The FX looked great throughout but the Millennium Falcon looked a bit dodgy. I mean, obviously top notch CGI but it looks exactly like CGI… Anyway, only a mere 12 months to wait! Imagine what a marketing frenzy the world is going to be in this time next year.

I am pretty sure they made actual models for the Falcon though, and X-wings, so at least they won’t ALWAYS be CGI. This teaser is already better than all three prequels.

Here in France the release is planned on December 18th, 2015.
And it murmurs that the next heroes of the episode 7 could be the children of Oof Solo and Leia Organa, the twin sister of Luke Skywalker. Three actors, interpreters of these characters (Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher), announced their participation in this episode 7. On the images revealed this day, we guess a girl and a pilot to the commands of their respective ships. Is it about grandchildren of Dark Vador?

I think, I had to grow up with Jar Jar Binks and that’s a fucking shame. Hope this is better.

Can Disney restrain themselves from ruining Star Wars? I’ve been wondering this since they took over. I have to say this trailer keeps a little hope alive. Looks like it has potential.

From what I’ve seen so far it looks like Abrams is doing a good job at returning to the original awesomeness of the series.
